The purpose of Stanford WISE Ventures is to publicize resources, build networks, and encourage research-based projects and programs to advance equity in science, engineering, and mathematics fields, including the social sciences, across the Stanford community.
New Ventures - Grass roots initiatives
- Amplification of effective programs
- Campus-wide communications, networks, events and initiatives
- Internal consulting – consulting tailored to individuals and departments to review and initiate action toward increasing gender equity in representation, culture, and excellence
- Seed grants for new research and implementation projects related to gender equity in STEM fields
To create broader awareness of Stanford activities – research, programs, policies, practices, and results – related to advancing gender equity in STEM (faculty, students, staff, alumni/ae, culture, organizational units, and institutions), internally and externally
Community & Connections
To reduce isolation of those underrepresented in science, engineering, and mathematics disciplines, departments, and leadership, through networks, mentoring, professional and leadership development; to encourage allies and advocates; to engage all in building awareness and acting on knowledge to enable greater realization of institutional goals for equity, inclusion, and excellence.
